High Society Orchestra often gets many questions about our services. Here are a few of the most common.

Absolutely! Call us at (312) 228-0537 or email us at info@highsocietyorch.com. We will be happy to meet with you, so
that you feel comfortable and that all your questions are answered. You can

How do I hear or see the High Society Orchestra?
We can mail you a comprehensive promotional package and we will be happy to
meet with you and show you our DVD, which shows the orchestra performing live
and at a number of weddings. Also, unlike most orchestras, we encourage you
to come see us perform at a wedding. We usually can get permission from the
host provided that you dress appropriately and are discreet. Since music is
so important at your wedding, we feel it is important that you see any orchestra
that you are considering and see how they interact with the guests. This you
cannot see on a CD and most orchestra cannot produce live the sound on their
CD.

When do you set up your equipment?
Our technicians arrive at least two hours before your guests to set up the P.A.
system, the lighting, the bandstands, etc. If the wedding ceremony is in the
same room as the reception, we bring in extra personnel so that we are set up
within one hour.

How do you manage volume levels?
Volume is very crucial at any event and we are very conscious of this. We do
not want to be known as a loud band. With our state-of-the-art P.A. system,
with small amplifiers, with plexi-glass in front of the horn players and with
qualified sound engineers, we will keep volume at a reasonable level, emphasizing
quality and clarity. Your guests don't want our music hindering their conversation,
especially during the dinner. If, during the event, you ever think we are too
loud, just let us know and we will accommodate you.

Do you perform for wedding ceremonies?
Yes we do! We have many options for ceremonies, including strings, classical
trumpets, flute, piano, harp, etc. We can provide you with a CD that includes
a variety of musical options, such as different combinations of instruments
for the ceremony or cocktail music.

Can you provide dinner music?
Absolutely! We can provide many different combinations, such as a pianist, a
duet (such as piano and violin), a trio or quartet, strolling violins, or the
entire orchestra playing standards, love songs, show tunes, classical music.
Also, you might want dancing between courses.

Can you do special announcements such as my bridal party's entrance?
We offer complete emcee services at no extra charge. Of course, we discuss your
needs ahead of time to ensure that we understand your requirements.

How many breaks do you take?
We take two 15-minute breaks during a standard three-hour performance. However,
we much prefer to provide continuous music (no breaks), as this keeps the party
happening and there is no lull during band breaks.

Are the band members always the same?
The orchestra maintains the same core of instrumentalists and vocalists. Some
faces may change as we augment the core with additional musicians. In the event
of a replacement, we always substitute with a musician of equal caliber, ensuring
the high standard of excellence for which we are known. After talking with our
clients or reading their testimonials , you can rest assured that our expertise
will give you a polished, enthusiastic performance.
